DSMS CELL PHONE/DEVICE POLICY
Student cell phones and all other personal electronic devices may ONLY be used with permission from a teacher during that class period; this includes and is not limited to music and earbuds/headphones. All electronic personal devices should be turned off and put away. Cell phones and personal electronic devices may only be accessed inside the cafeteria before school and during lunch. Personal devices and earbuds/headphones may NOT be used in the hallway at anytime, unless permitted by classroom teacher during class time.
Students are not allowed to access social media while on campus (Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, etc.). Pictures or videos of individuals may NOT be taken on campus without permission.
Below are the consequences for failure to follow this policy:
1st offense - Teacher will give verbal warning to put it away.
2nd offense - Teacher will collect device and return to the student at the end of the class period.
3rd offense - Teacher will collect device and take to the front office. Student may pick up device at the end of the day.
4th offense - Teacher will collect device and take to the front office. Parent must pick up device at the end of the day.
**This policy is in effect from 8:00 a.m.-4:15 p.m.**
