Educational Background and Philosophy
I grew up right here in Dripping Springs, Texas. After I graduated I moved to San Marcos, Texas where I attended Texas State University. In 2014 I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree of Family and Child Development. I then began to work in Dripping Springs at the Preparatory School where I fell in love with the classroom and teaching. From there, I decided to go back to school to pursue my Master's in Elementary Education. During my Master's Program at Texas State, I had the wonderful opportunity to work in DSISD at Walnut Elementary and Dripping Springs Elementary. Dripping Springs holds a special place in my heart. Not only did many teachers impact my upbringing, but I now have the opportunity to give my students what I received. In the Spring of 2017, I worked as a Reading Specialist working primarily with K-2nd graders. I then graduated with my Masters in May of 2017 and my dream of finally having my own classroom has come true. I feel privileged to come to work each day and work with your children. I am so excited for the year ahead and all the wonderful things we will learn and do!
My philisophy of classroom management is to treat all individuals with respect. I will recognize all student successes and guide students to become life-long learners. My goal throughout the semester is to celebrate each child's growth, build a positive learning community, and find each child's passion in the classroom. I look forward to a fantastic year in first grade!
