Rising & Incoming 7TH GRADE 2024-25 TEXAS IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS
In preparation for the 2024-2025 school year, we wanted to let you know Texas state law requires all 7th grade students to receive the following two immunizations before the first day of school:
- Tetanus, Diphtheria and Acellular Pertussis-containing vaccine (Tdap): 1 dose within the last 5 years (on/after 8/13/19) to be valid.
- Meningococcal Vaccine (MCV4, MCV4P): 1 dose of the quadrivalent vaccine on or after a student's 11th birthday to be valid.
or
- Reasons of Conscience Exemption that include the two required 7th grade immunizations boxes checked. DSISD does not accept a photocopy or a receipt from applying for an ROC exemption. Please remember ROC Exemptions expire every 2 years. It is the parents responsibility to provide a new notarized affidavit before the expiration date in order for their student to continue school per state rules.
Please note: We can only accept an immunization record from an electronic health record system if it includes the clinic's contact information or the provider's signature/stamp. A screenshot or print-out from your child's patient portal does not satisfy this requirement.
If your 6th grade student has received these two required immunizations, you may fax or email your student’s immunization record now. Your child’s immunization status is available for you to view in Skyward. Go to Family Access and click on the ‘Health Info’ tab located on the left side of the page.
Please understand we do not want to disappoint you or your child by not being able to release their class schedule and not allowing them to start the first day of school on August 13, 2024 for not having met state requirements until an updated immunization record has been provided.

I am honored to have the opportunity to serve students and families at Dripping Springs Middle School. Originally from Lewisville, Texas, I completed my bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from St. Edward's University while lettering for the volleyball team. Soon after, I completed my accelerated bachelor’s in nursing at Methodist College of Nursing in Peoria, IL. Prior to becoming a school nurse in 2022 for AISD, I spent several years working as a Registered Nurse in the hospital setting on the Medical/Surgical & Oncology floor. I have also spent time as a travel nurse, home health supervisor, and nurse navigator. When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two children, traveling, cooking, and baking! I am so excited to be a part of the DSISD community!
It is such a privilege to get to care for your growing Tigers! Please don’t hesitate to ask questions or address concerns regarding your student’s health needs.
Look forward to meeting you!
