My name is Amy Guerra and I'm so excited to be one of the counselors at Sycamore Springs Elementary. I've been married for 22 years and have 2 boys, one in kinder and the other in 11th and 1 girl in 3rd who all enjoy very different interests but we all share a love for the outdoors and road tripping and hiking. I have a professional background prior to becoming a teacher and now school counselor which lends another lens when working with students and stakeholders. My bachelors was earned at the University of Texas at San Antonio and my masters is from Lamar University in Beaumont. Some of my favorite hobbies include painting, gardening, bird watching, singing loudly in my car and being with my family. I especially love to watch the hummingbirds with a cup of coffee sitting in my favorite chair. I look forward to continuing my school counseling work with you at SSES. #SycaMORE
Hello! My name is Karey Carroll, and I am thrilled and honored to be the part-time school counselor at Sycamore Springs Elementary. I will be working alongside Mrs. Guerra the full-time counselor. I am originally from the Kansas City area, and graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska before moving to Austin. This is my seventh year in education with the majority of those years spent teaching at Hill Country Middle School in Eanes ISD. I completed my Masters degree in Guidance and Counseling through Angelo State University.
I have been married for 11 years to my wonderful husband, and we are blessed with three children who are six, eight and nine. I love to spend my free time with family, reading, traveling, playing and watching sports.
I will be at Sycamore Springs Elementary on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and every other Monday. Please do not hesitate to contact me if there is anything I can do for your child. I am looking forward to a great year!
