I am honored to now be the Principal of such an amazing school after serving as the Assistant Principal for two years. I am so proud of our students and staff and feel blessed to have such committed and involved parents.  I joined the Rooster Springs family as a parent when my daughter started kindergarten in 2013.  That same year, I became an employee of Dripping Springs ISD as a Coordinator for Learning and Innovation at Central Office.

My education career began in 2000 in Round Rock ISD where I taught 4th Grade and 7th Grade math.  My husband, being from Oak Hill, convinced me to move south to the Dripping Springs area in 2005 and I began working as an Instructional Coach at Kyle Elementary in Hays CISD.  Between my jobs in Hays and Dripping Springs, I worked at the Education Service Center, Region 13 in Austin.  This experience broadened my understanding and appreciation for the public education system, but being back on a campus has renewed my excitement and passion for teaching and learning!

My husband, Kyle, and I have two children.  Addison is a fourth grader at Rooster Springs, and Aaron is joining us in PreK this year. The three of them bring so much joy to my personal life.  Finding balance and Sharpening the Saw are very important to me.  We spend a lot of time together as a family and with friends. As a mom, I have appreciated the experience that my daughter has received at Rooster Springs, and as an administrator, I strive to ensure that each of your children are treated with as much care and consideration for their education.

I believe strongly in the DSISD Mission that we partner with parents and the community to provide a superior education for every student. Please let me know what I can do to help ensure that mission is met for your child!

    Let’s have a great year!

I am so excited to be the new Assistant Principal of Rooster Springs Elementary School.  I was born and raised mostly in Houston, TX. I lived in Chicago from the ages of 4-8 and went to school from Kinder through 2nd grade in the Windy City.

After graduating from high school in Houston, I moved to San Marcos.  I graduated from Texas State University, still Southwest Texas to me, with both my Undergraduate and Master’s Degrees. I knew from the age of 8 that I wanted to be a teacher and never veered from that decision.

I have worked in Austin ISD for the last 26 ½ years teaching 1st – 5th, as an Instructional Coach, and as a summer school Principal.   During my time in AISD, I have held many different positions such as a mentor, curriculum writer, dyslexia designee, presenter for Professional Development, technology coach, and many other duties.

I have 5 children that keep me busy. My oldest are twin daughters who will graduate from Texas State in May with an Education Degree.  My youngest is a junior at Bowie High School. In my free time, I like to be at the beach or lake, and I love to travel.

I am so looking forward to beginning at Rooster Springs and working with all the students and staff.  It is going to be a great year!!
