Emphasizing high standards in music making through a variety of musical styles, built on a foundation of music reading skills and vocal technique, the Dripping Springs Choir has experienced continued growth and success over the past several years. Over the past five years, the choir program has earned 15 U.I.L. Sweepstakes Awards, 4 students placed in the Texas All-State Choir, numerous All-Region Choir members and State Qualifying Soloists and Ensembles. With five major concerts each year, there are many opportunities for performance.
The Dripping Springs High School Choir Department consists of five performing ensembles in five choir classes. Treble Choir - entry level choir for girls who are new to high school choir. Concert Choir - a non-varsity mixed choir, girls in this class have previous high school level choir experience, this is the entry level class for boys in the choir program. Chamber Choir - varsity level choir, placement is by audition in the spring. Jazz Cats - a select vocal ensemble performing vocal jazz and contemporary a cappella arrangements. Auditions are held in the spring, usually April.
