Welcome to the Tiger Family! On behalf of Dripping Springs ISD, it is my honor to welcome you to our amazing school district. I know that many families seek out DSISD specifically for our acclaimed schools, and rightfully so. Our community has a long tradition of outstanding education and takes great pride in our district’s reputation for excellence.

One of the reasons our schools excel is because of the dedicated support of our parents. As new members of this community, I encourage you to get involved. All of our campuses have Parent-Teacher Associations that provide vital support to our wonderful staff and students. We also have an active Dripping Springs Education Foundation that serves the district with both financial and program support. From volunteering in the classroom, to athletics and fine arts booster clubs, you are invited to take an active role in our thriving district.

Thank you for choosing Dripping Springs ISD. As our dedicated staff, community members, and parents work together to support our district, I have no doubt we will accomplish great things! We are so glad you are here!

    Sincerely,

    Dr. Holly Morris-Kuentz

    ABOUT DR. MORRIS-KUENTZ

Dr. Holly Morris-Kuentz joined Dripping Springs ISD as superintendent on May 6, 2021, and hit the ground running. She brought extensive experience in multiple areas of educational administration, and has a strong record for working closely with staff and community to implement initiatives and build consensus.

No stranger to fast-growth districts, she served in various positions for Lake Travis ISD for 12 years, most recently as Deputy Superintendent. In that role, she provided leadership for 11 elementary and secondary principals, as well as the Curriculum and Instruction, Communications, Development and Corporate Relations, Administrative and Legal Services departments. She also served as the acting superintendent. Dr. Morris-Kuentz at various times supervised the Human Resources, Athletics, and Fine Arts departments at LTISD.

In addition to her three years as Deputy Superintendent, Dr. Morris-Kuentz previously held three different assistant superintendent titles over eight years, overseeing Administrative and Community Services, Human Capital and Community Services, and Human Resources. Previously she served as the Director of Educational Support Services.

During her tenure in LTISD, she worked collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders on key district needs including attendance zones, safety and security, long-range planning, a bond program and a TRE election.

Before going to Lake Travis, Dr. Morris-Kuentz spent four years in higher education, as the Director of Instructional and Research Technology at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, N.Y. Her roots are in K-12 education, however, as she spent seven years as an English and Technology teacher in Alamo Heights ISD after one year teaching at a private school in San Antonio to start her career.

Dr. Morris-Kuentz has been active in community and professional associations. She served on the executive committees of the Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce and the Texas Association of Curriculum and Development, and is a member of the Fast-Growth School Coalition. She also has held leadership roles with TASA (Texas Association of School Administrators) and TASPA (Texas Association of School Personnel Administrators), among other organizations.

Dr. Morris-Kuentz and her husband, John, are the proud parents of Timothy, Mikaela and Samuel. Her educational background consists of a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Texas at San Antonio, a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Houston Baptist University, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Texas at Austin.
