  • We are wrapping up the last days of February and our learning about Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, then to be Understood.  Ask your children why it is important to be honest.

    1. February 22 from 6-7:30 pm is our Annual Cultures Around the World event!  Come and celebrate our culture and diversity!

    2. Please help us with starting our day of learning on time with on-time arrivals.  The campus opens at 7:00 am and school begins at 7:45 am.  Students need time to walk to class, unpack, and get settled before the learning begins. Thank you for your support!

    3. Lunch Guests- we love having families visit for lunch!  Please know it is expected that parents eat only with their personal children and that if you decide to eat outside the cafeteria, students are to remain seated during lunchtime.  Thank you!

    4. Winter 2023-2024 NWEA MAP reports are now available in Skyward Family Access under Report Card/Portfolio for you to review. Please see the following attachment for instructions on how to find your student's report.

    5. The Interim 3B grade reports were posted to Family Access for grades 3-12 on 2/22/24.

    6. March 5th was a Principal Coffee Talk and the date is postponed until our April meeting- our next Coffee Talk will be April 2.

    7. Read Across America is March 4-8!  The theme is Read Across Drip: In our Reading PHASE. Get ready for a week of reading adventures inspired by the upcoming eclipse. We hope this week sparks a love for reading, imagination, and the wonders of the universe. Each day will have a theme to explore in class. We are excited to spread the love for literacy throughout our learning community.

    8. In the past few weeks, our 3rd-5th graders have received lessons from our counselors regarding bullying and cyberbullying. Cyberbullying, an issue in today's digital age, poses significant threats to the well-being and mental health of individuals, particularly adolescents. It manifests in various forms, including harassment, spreading rumors, and the posting of hurtful or humiliating content online. Unlike traditional forms of bullying, cyberbullying can occur 24/7, reaching victims in the supposed safety of their homes and beyond. Addressing cyberbullying demands collective action from parents and educators to create safer online environments, promote digital literacy, and foster empathy and respect among users. By working together, we can combat cyberbullying and cultivate a culture of kindness and inclusivity both online and offline. Please see this link for more information on Family Tips for cyberbullying.

    9.  DSHS Junior, Audrey Staker, has a club called the Golden Years Club and is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt at Ledgestone Senior Living on March 30th from 12:00-1:00. Since many senior citizens have mobility restrictions, we are inviting Cypress Elementary students to participate! There will be Easter Eggs hidden, tons of food, fun music, and more. We would love to have you guys in attendance. We're capping it at around 100 children, but honestly, the more the merrier! Here is the link to sign up. https://forms.gle/3SHC9psBr67ZVRjZ7
