Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dripping Springs High School has moved its graduation ceremony to June 19, 2020, at Tiger Stadium, with social distancing and other safety measures planned, following guidance provided by the State of Texas, Governor Abbott, and the Texas Education Agency. District and campus leaders applied feedback from a survey of seniors and discussion with the school's Graduation Committee comprised of senior students and staff members to make this decision.

Graduation originally was scheduled for May 29, 2020. The extra few weeks will allow the implementation of structured safety protocols for attending the ceremony, arrival/departure, personal protective equipment, seating requirements and social distancing.  The requirements also include limiting the number of total guests at the ceremony based on stadium capacity.  In order to meet the requirement of 25 percent capacity, each DSHS graduate will be permitted four total guests. The event will begin at 8:30 p.m. and tickets will be required. The ceremony will be streamed live for those who are unable to attend.

Because this situation is fluid and constantly evolving, it is subject to change depending on state and local policies, as well as developments related to COVID.

In addition to the in-person graduation, several other activities are planned to honor the Class of 2020.  These events include “Friday Night Lights,” “Paint the Town,” display of Senior Signs, a senior sunset and fireworks celebration, and a “Class of 2020 virtual celebration.” A description of these activities and is attached to this email. Senior Awards and Top 10 Celebration will be held during the week leading up to graduation, and invitations will be sent to students. 2020 Graduation Information summarizes the additional activities.
