My name is Davy Holmes.  I am the Director of Speech and Debate at Dripping Springs High School.  I also teach Principles of Government and Public Administration and Political Science I.  I have previously coached speech and debate at Sinton High School (2002-2003), Hebron High School (2003-2007), and San Marcos High School (2014-2017).  I also have seven years experience teaching at an alternative school for Gregory-Portland ISD (2007-2014).  Throughout the years, my speech and debate students have enjoyed much success, including numerous district titles, state and national qualifications, and UIL state championships.

I received a B.A. in Political Science from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi and a M.Ed. in Educational Technology Leadership from Lamar University.  I hold teaching certifications in Speech Communications, Government, Social Studies, Mathematics, and Technology Applications.

Debate is a powerful activity that has had a significant impact on my life.  My motivation to teach stems from my desire to share this amazing activity with as many students as possible.  I am excited about the opportunity to maintain and grow the DSHS speech and debate program.
