• OUT-OF-DISTRICT TRANSFERS

    • Non-resident students are not permitted to attend DSISD schools except as provided below.
    • Transportation will not be provided for transfer students except as required by law.
    • Transfers are granted for only one school year. A student seeking renewal of a transfer must apply by June 1 each year.

    CONTRACT/LEASE FOR RESIDENCE IN DSISD
    A non-resident student may be permitted to enroll if the student’s parent or legal guardian is:

    • In the process of building or purchasing a home within the DSISD attendance zone in which the student shall reside, of which the foundation has been laid at the time of enrollment and is reasonably expected to be completed before the end of the school year. The following documents are required:
      • Contract/Lease on a Home Transfer Application
      • First page of the contract on the new home showing the home’s address
      • Letter from the builder confirming that the foundation has been laid and the estimated move-in date
      • $35 transfer application fee*
    • Moving into a leased or rented home within the DSISD attendance zone in which the student shall reside, no later than 30 calendar days following the student’s enrollment. The following documents are required:

    FORMER RESIDENT INTER-DISTRICT TRANSFER

    • Families moving out of the district during the course of the school year who wish for a current student to remain in a DSISD school for the remainder of the school year can submit the Out of District Transfer Application along with a $35 transfer application fee*.  If approved, the transfer will remain in place only through the end of the current school year.
    • A resident student who becomes a nonresident at the end of the student’s junior year and who has been continuously enrolled and regularly attended school at DSISD during his/her junior year shall be allowed to complete his/her senior year in the district by submitting the Out of District Transfer Application along with a $35 transfer application fee*. Forms must be submitted no later than June 1, 2023.

    DSISD EMPLOYEE CHILD TRANSFER

    • A district employee who works a minimum of 4 hours per day and lives outside of the DSISD attendance zone may request a transfer for their child to attend DSISD schools. A Child of a DSISD Employee Transfer Application must be submitted each school year. Forms must be received no later than June 1, 2023 or 30 days after employment begins. No fee is required. 
    • If the parent or guardian leaves employment with the District any time after the end of the first semester, the student shall be permitted to continue in attendance for the remainder of the school year.
    • If the parent or guardian leaves employment with the District at the end of the student’s junior year and the student has been continuously enrolled and regularly attended school in the District during his or her junior year, the student shall be allowed to complete his/her senior year in the district by submitting the Out of District Transfer Application along with a $35 transfer application fee*. Forms must be submitted no later than June 1, 2023.

     

    IN-DISTRICT TRANSFERS

    • A resident student shall be assigned to a school in the attendance zone in which he/she resides except as provided below.
    • Transportation will not be provided for transfer students except as required by law.
    • Transfers are granted for only one school year. A student seeking renewal of a transfer must apply by June 1 each year.

    CONTRACT/LEASE FOR RESIDENCE IN DSISD
    A resident student may be permitted to attend a school other than the one they are currently zoned for if the student’s parent or legal guardian is:

    • In the process of building or purchasing a home within the requested school’s attendance zone in which the student shall reside, of which the foundation has been laid at the time of enrollment and is reasonably expected to be completed before the end of the school year. The following documents are required:
      • Contract/Lease on a Home Transfer Application
      • Proof of current residency within the district (such as home sale closing document, property tax statement, property deed, or lease agreement; and one current utility bill, such as electric, water, or gas).
      • First page of the contract on the new home showing the home’s address
      • Letter from the builder confirming that the foundation has been laid and the estimated move-in date
    • Moving into a leased or rented home within the requested school’s attendance zone in which the student shall reside, no later than 30 calendar days following the student’s enrollment. The following documents are required:
      • Contract/Lease on a Home Transfer Application

      • A copy of the lease showing the home’s address and the move-in date

     

    ATTENDANCE ZONE CHANGE TRANSFER

    • Families who change attendance zones during the course of the school year who wish for a current student to remain at their current campus for the remainder of the school year may submit the Attendance Zone Change Transfer Application. Proof of current residency within the district (such as home sale closing document, property tax statement, property deed, or lease agreement; and one current utility bill, such as electric, water, or gas) is required. If approved, the transfer will remain in place only through the end of the current school year.

     

    DSISD EMPLOYEE CHILD TRANSFER

    *Transfer Fee Information

    • The transfer fee is required only for out-of-district transfer requests.
    • No fee is required for in-district transfer requests nor for district employee transfer requests.
    • The transfer application fee is $35 per child, up to three children. For three or more children, the fee is capped at $105.
    • The fee is non-refundable.
    • Payment must be received before the transfer request can be processed.
    • Payment may be made with cash, check, money order, or credit card.
    • Credit card payments must be made through the Dripping Springs ISD Online Payment System.
