    Happy Month of October!

One of our campus goals this year is to Increase family engagement with decision-making, additional training, and resources in order to foster a sense of belonging among our learning community by June 2024. Families at CSES will be afforded the opportunity to be trained in the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families. The campus leadership team will enhance campus events with an emphasis on engagement. Parent conferences and Student-Led Conferences will continue to be hosted.

Positive connections between families and schools have been shown to improve children’s academic achievement, social competencies, and emotional well-being. When we work as partners, children do better in school and at home. Research shows that when a partnership approach is evident, children’s work habits, attitudes about school, and grades improve. They demonstrate better social skills, fewer behavioral problems, and a greater ability to adapt to situations and get along. When working together as partners, it’s been found that we communicate more effectively, develop stronger relationships with one another, and develop skills to support children’s behaviors and learning.

    1. WEATHER PERMITTING- Join us for Cypress Sprinters tomorrow morning at 7:15 a.m.  Students in PK-1st grade are invited to jog/walk the track with a parent. 2nd-5th graders may arrive and jog independently.  Let’s sharpen the saw.

Parents and community members are encouraged to complete the short survey on what their hopes are for DSISD students, what skills students should possess to be successful, and more. Responses are completely confidential.
