It is hard to believe we only have two months of school!

This month we learn about the habit of daily self-renewal, Habit 7- Sharpen the Saw. Sharpen the Saw means preserving and enhancing the greatest asset you have—YOU.

It means having a balanced program for self-renewal in the four areas of your life: physical, social/emotional, mental, and spiritual. As you renew yourself in each of the four areas, you create growth and change in your life. Sharpen the Saw keeps you fresh so you can continue to practice the other habits. You increase your capacity to produce and handle the challenges around you. Without this renewal, the body becomes weak, the mind mechanical, the emotions raw, the spirit insensitive, and the person selfish.  Every day provides a new opportunity for renewal—a new opportunity to recharge yourself instead of hitting the wall

    1. We will not host Cypress Sprinters on March 31 due to Field Day or on April 7 due to a school holiday.

    2. Lost and Found has grown!  Please be sure to check for lost jackets and water bottles as all items remaining on March 31 will be donated to our local clothing drive.

    3. The Book Fair is here! Please click here for more information about dates and to set up an eWallet account for your child's Book Fair purchases. This year we are partnering with Foster Village to help purchase new books to be included in 'Welcome Packs' for all of their new families receiving services. If you would like to contribute towards this fund, you can do so here (you can also donate to teacher wish lists at this site). Other ways to contribute: round up your change at the cash register, or purchase a raffle ticket on Family Night for the chance to win a book basket!

Thank you for the support for our APEX FUN RUN! The children, families, and staff had a blast running, walking, dancing, and laughing at today’s event.  Let’s finish strong so we can enhance our outdoor play areas for the children!  We have some amazing ideas planned to create a fun play experience for the students during recess.  In addition, Dr. Tudor and I will be slimed at our Friday Assembly tomorrow to recognize all the efforts by our school community in fundraising!

Please enjoy the time next week with family and friends.  We will be refreshed and refueled to finish Tiger Strong for the last quarter of the school year.

    1. Spring Break is March 13-17.  Enjoy the rest and family time!

    2. We understand families have appointments and must pick up children early at times.  We have noticed a large number of students signing out early each day and want to friendly remind everyone that our school day ends at 3 pm.  Children leaving early miss instruction.  Thank you for your help!

    3. Monday, March 20th PK-2 and 3-5 will engage in an assembly with Blake Brandes.  Dr. Blake’s school assemblies feature age-appropriate and engaging Growth Mindset lessons infused with beatboxing, comedic storytelling, and family-friendly freestyle rapping.

    4. Cypress Sprinters will return Friday, March 24th at 7:15 AM!  Come run before school!  PK-1 must have a parent or guardian running with them.

    5. Mark your calendar for our next Parent University on March 23.  Click here for more information.

This month we are learning about Habit 6: Synergize- Working together is better. To put it simply, synergy means “two heads are better than one.” Synergize is the habit of creative cooperation. It is teamwork, open-mindedness, and the adventure of finding new solutions to old problems. But it doesn’t just happen on its own. It’s a process; through that process, people bring their experience and expertise to the table. Together, they can produce far better results than they could individually. Synergy lets us discover jointly things we are much less likely to discover ourselves. It is the idea that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. One plus one equals three, or six, or sixty–you name it.

Valuing differences is what really drives synergy. Do we truly value the mental, emotional, and psychological differences among people? Or do we wish everyone would just agree with us so we can all get along? Many people mistake uniformity for unity and sameness for oneness. One word—boring! Differences should be seen as strengths, not weaknesses. They add zest to life.

    1. Tuesday, March 7th at 8 am in a Coffee Talk and we will be digging into our Leader in Me book study.  We hope to see you there!
