It is hard to believe that we are entering the month of November.  November is a great month to pause and think about how grateful we are for one another!  CSE is an amazing place to be.  Thank you to our staff, families, and students for their commitment to excellence.

This month we are learning about Habit 3: Put First Things First. Put First Things First, is a habit about priorities. We all juggle multiple hats in our lives, whether it be professional or personal, and we need to develop habits that help us manage the day-to-day. Habit 3 talks in-depth about “Big Rocks” and “Little Rocks” in our lives.

“Big Rocks” are the most important things for you to do, such as spending time with your family or getting an education. “Little Rocks” are the less important things for you to do, such as watching T.V., or aimlessly searching the Internet. Here is a Family Activity to support developing Habit 3.

We have loved this week’s Fall Weather! The cooler temperatures have been so enjoyable.

    2. Term 1 Report Cards post this evening in Family Access.

    3. Our campus team decided to replace Cypress Cash and the Power Store with  Classroom and School Wide brag boards.  When a class fills their board (students are acknowledged for being safe, respectful, and responsible), they have a class celebration and when all 31 classrooms have filled their boards we celebrate school-wide.  Our goal is to change our language with students from earning to receiving acknowledgment and from rewards to celebrations. This aligns with our new Emergent Tree Framework as we are acknowledging our core values of Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible rather than rewarding students for expected behavior.  We will continue to provide feedback to teach the expectations explicitly and implicitly. Power Leaders will continue to be recognized as well as Caught Being a Leader.
