Dripping Springs ISD expects that all users of any part of the District’s websites will comply with applicable copyright laws. It is the policy of the District to respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement in compliance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”) and to take appropriate action. Section 512 of the DMCA outlines the statutory requirements necessary for formally reporting copyright infringement, as well as providing instructions on how an affected party can appeal a removal by submitting a counter-notice.
The District has adopted policies regarding copyright law in accordance with the DMCA. A copy of the District’s policies are located here. Consistent with the requirements of the DMCA, the District will, in appropriate circumstances, take action, including but not limited to, disabling and/or terminating the accounts of users who are repeat infringers.
