  • NEW LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM BEING PILOTED:
    DSISD is excited to announce the initial pilot implementation of the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). Canvas allows teachers to provide a personalized learning experience through instructional support, class calendars, messages, notifications, assignments, collaborative activities, and resources that are tailored to each student in one easy-to-use, easy-to-access platform.   • BOARD FILING DEADLINE:
    The deadline to file to run for a position on the DSISD Board of Trustees this May is Feb. 15, 2019.

  • TEXTBOOK REVIEW OPPORTUNITY:
    Several subjects are included in the statewide instructional materials adoption for 2019-20:  English Language Arts and Reading for Grades K–8; Spanish Language Arts and Reading for Grades K–6; Spelling (English and Spanish) for Grades 1–6; Handwriting (English and Spanish) for Grades K–5; English Learners Language Arts for Grades 7–8; and Personal Financial Literacy. TEA-approved pre-adoption samples are available online. English Language Arts and Reading, Spelling, and Handwriting pre-adoption samples will be available for public review and comment at the DSISD Administrative Building Feb. 4-28, 2019, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

District News

  • On Sept. 24, 2018, the Dripping Springs ISD Board of Trustees voted to maintain the tax rate of $1.52 ($1.17 Maintenance and Operations/$0.35 Interest & Sinking).
    The DSISD Board adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for Maintenance and Operations than last year's tax rate. The tax rate will effectively be raised by 2.137 percent and will raise taxes for Maintenance and Operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $31.80.
