This October, training will be held at all campuses to teach staff how to use the new "trauma kits" that have been placed in key locations at all district facilities. The trauma kits, which were acquired and installed this summer, have extensive potentially life-saving features for use with serious injury and trauma that involves loss of blood. Each year “Reflections,” a national PTA program, honors artistic students by offering an opportunity to submit original creative works in six categories: categories of dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photograph, and visual arts. CLICK ON HEADLINE TO READ MORE.
In order to allow time for teachers to collaborate and plan exceptional learning experience for our students, this year all elementary campuses in Dripping Springs ISD has scheduled four “early release” dates for elementary campuses. Tiger quarterback Tanner Prewit was recognized by the Austin American Statesman as the Player of the Week following his starting debut against Kerrville Tivy High School August 31. Prewit, a senior, passed for 273 yards and rushed for 183 yards, accounting for 456 of total offense and leading the Tigers to a 48-35 victory. He also accounted for five of the six touchdowns, including a 75-yard TD throw to sophomore Cameron O'Banan. Tanner also was selected as the Texas Orthopedics Student Athlete of the Week (Fanstandatx.com) and the Greater Texas Ford Dealers 5A Player of the Week.
