    Vaccination Information

Texas State Law requires that ALL 7th graders receive the following vaccines:

    • Tdap booster - 1 dose within the last 5 years
    • Meningococcal vaccine - 1 dose of the quadrivalent vaccine on or after 11th birthday

For those parents who do not want their children to be vaccinated for reasons of conscience, a notarized Affidavit of Exemption must be filed with the school.

In order to have access to your child's schedule in Skyward on 8/10/20 and to start school on 8/18/20, proof of immunization or a current, notarized affidavit must be received.

You may fax, mail, email, or bring the updated shot records to the school beginning August 4, 2020.

Meet Cassie our SSMS Emotional Support Dog

                                 SSMS Emotional Support Animal

Cassie is a 2 year old Goldendoodle that will be on campus to use with students who are having a difficult day. She offers lots of unconditional love and supports our students by helping them through a tough time while at school. Cassie will be used by the counselors or nurse in the Mindfulness Room. Students will often see Cassie in the mornings greeting students getting off the bus, by the cafeteria or in the hallways. She helps brighten an early school morning. Cassie is making a difference at SSMS!

I have been a registered nurse for 23 years and I truly love it! Before becoming a school nurse, I spent several years working as a nurse in a busy pediatric emergency room.

My husband (Casey) and I have been married for 24 years and love to call Dripping Springs our home. We have been blessed with three children - Lauren, Luke and Landry. Our two boys are current students at DSISD and our daughter graduated in 2017 and is now loving being a college student. When I am not working, I enjoy traveling, watching my favorite sports teams (Go DS Tigers!) and spending time with my family and friends.

Please feel free to contact me with any need to know health conditions or concerns you may have for your SSMS student. I want to partner with you to make sure all of their health needs are being met at school to help have a successful school year.
