Important Information for Parents:

  • Texas state law requires ALL seventh-graders to have the following vaccines:

    1. Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Acellular Pertussis-containing vaccine (Tdap): 1 dose within the last 5 years to be valid.

    2. Meningococcal Vaccine(MCV4, MCV4P): 1 dose of the quadrivalent vaccine on or after the student’s 11th birthday to be valid.

For those parents who do not want their children to be vaccinated for reasons of conscience, a notarized Affidavit of Exemption must be filed with the school.

In order for parents to have access to the student's schedule in Skyward and to start school, proof of immunization or a current, notarized affidavit must be received. Updated shot records may be faxed, mailed, emailed, or physically brought to the school.

Meet our SSMS Emotional Support Dog -Cassie

       SSMS Emotional Support Animal

Cassie is a three-year-old Goldendoodle that is on campus for students when they are having a difficult day. She offers lots of unconditional love and supports our students by helping them through any tough time while at school. Cassie is used by the counselors and school nurse. Parents who think their student would benefit from using Cassie, please contact a counselor or nurse to set up a time to meet our SSMS emotional support animal. Cassie is often seen in the mornings greeting students when they get off the bus, by the cafeteria, or in the hallways. Cassie is making a difference at SSMS!
