Instructional Aides
Instructional Aide applicants must be qualified as follows:

  • Have an Associate's degree or minimum of two years of college with at least 48 credit hours; or
  • Provide proof of completion of a qualifying para-educator certification program through a recognized agency.

In addition, the State Board for Educator Certification requires Instructional Aides to hold an Educational Aide Certificate.  Information about certification can be found on the TEA website under Becoming an Educational Aide in TexasAfter employment, Instructional Aides must visit this site, create a TEA  login account, and pay the applicable certification fee.
