Facility Use and Rentals
DSISD offers the use of school buildings and grounds by the community for educational, recreational, civic and cultural activities to the extent possible under public school laws and regulations. As part of its stewardship of taxpayer resources, the district charges fees for facility use according to a fee schedule approved by the school board. The Facility Use page contains information on facility use procedures and rates, as well as the application and agreement forms.

Planning for Future Facilities
For information on the approved bond, as well as planning and construction updates, see www.dsisdbond.net.

In May of 2014, voters approved a $93,410,00 bond referendum that included funding for:
  • new elementary school
  • new middle school
  • multi-purpose stadium (at existing competition field behind DSHS)
  • HVAC system and roof replacements at some schools
  • baseball/softball complex at DSHS
  • public access road connecting DSHS to Highway 290 (accessing stadium)
  • district-wide technology renovations and other infrastructure improvements
  • expansion of high school field house/locker room facilities

The bond program resulted from a six-month planning process that started with the reformation of the Long Range Facility Planning Committee in August of 2013. The group was comprised of community members, parents, faculty, and district administrators. The team was charged with visualizing and planning for moderate- and long-term district instructional and auxiliary facilities. LRFPC members studied enrollment trends, evaluated the status and capacity of current facilities, compiled a list of facility needs, and prioritized projects on the list. Results from the LRFPC were turned over the the Bond Steering Committee, which refined those recommendations into a package that fit within the district's bonding capacity before presenting a recommendation to the Board of Trustees.

Other District Properties
Dripping Springs ISD owns one other piece of property that has not yet been developed:
  • 150 acres at the intersection of Sawyer Ranch Road and Darden Hill Road (on the south side of Darden Hill Road)
  • 25 acres northwest of the intersection of RR12 and Mt. Gainor Road
These properties have been surveyed to determine what factors will need to be considered in future school construction decisions.
