Over time, DSISD curriculum has been and continues to be developed by teams of DSISD teachers, administrators, and instructional support staff. Curriculum development is an ongoing process and the documents on this site are considered a work in progress.
The DSISD Scope & Sequence documents provide a broad overview of course concepts, vocabulary, and sequencing. Concepts (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) are bundled into nine-week instructional periods and then mapped onto the district's current school calendar. The school year is divided into four of these nine-week periods.
These Scope & Sequence documents establish consistency of instruction throughout the district, in different grade levels and subject areas, by providing clear guidance on what your child's teachers should teach and when they should teach it. The DSISD Scope and Sequence Documents are also used when developing Curriculum Based Assessments (CBAs). Concepts tested on CBAs are aligned to the DSISD Scope and Sequence for a given time period, grade level, and course.
By clicking on the appropriate link below you will be able to view the Scope & Sequence documents for each core subject. We are in the process of finalizing documents for High School and will post them as as they are completed.
