I was born and grew up in the small town of Russia, Ohio. When I was in 7th grade, my family moved to North East, Pennsylvania, where much of my family lives today. I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher. I went to a small college in Pennsylvania, Millersville University, which had an excellent teacher's program and I received my BS in Elementary Education and became a certified teacher in Pennsylvania. After graduation I felt the need to move back home and got a first grade teaching job! I spent the next two years teaching 1st grade and moved to 4th grade my third year of teaching. In 1996 I married my soul mate, Dan, and we moved to a rural area in Pennsylvania called Wyalusing. It was here that I took an instructional support teaching position, took many elementary masters college courses, and had my two precious children. Danielle is 16 years old and in 11th grade and Hunter is 14 years old and in the 9th grade, that means both in the high school, where has the time gone?
We moved to Dripping Springs in 2004 and fell in love with the area, the people, and the schools. I taught at the Dripping Springs Methodist Preschool for 2 1/2 years as the music and movement teacher. I currently hold a Texas certificate in education for EC-4 grade and an ESL certificate. I received a 3rd grade teaching position at Rooster Springs in 2007, taught 1st grade for 2 years, and once again moved to 3rd grade where I was for the past 6 years. I was asked to move to 2nd grade at the end of the last school year and I am so excited to start this new journey with you and your child. I know we are going to have a WONDERFUL year!!!
